BESS Engineering Manager in EC1

Overview \n Roc Search are looking to hire a BESS Engineering Manager to work for our renewable energy developer client to provide engineering expertise and lead on management of the engineering development of BESS systems throughout the various phases of the projects, from early development to operations.\n\nRole and Responsibilities:\n Development\n\nSupport development activities: site selection and evaluation, constraints and constructability assessment in the light of the commercial requirements.\nReview and opine on grid connection offers.\nProvide technical input to planning, land transaction and consenting processes.\nLead Technical Due Diligence activities for acquisition of development or RTB BESS projects and coordination of external advisors.Pre-construction and Construction\n\nEquipment selection support.\nCoordinate the definition of employer requirements and other commercial requirements such as Q/A and warranty requirements.\nSupport financial teams by owning economic assumptions in the financial model, including CAPEX and OPEX assumptions.\nLead on lender side technical due diligence. Coordinate with the Financial team to provide the required technical input.\nOwn the definition of employer requirements in coordination with OEs or external consultants.\nSupport procurement in the definition of the EPC, supply and O&M agreements.\nIdentify and address and mitigate project technical risks.\nCoordinate with Owner Engineers and contractor the design development process of BESS systems in line with Engineering processes.\nCoordinate with commercial teams to into the agreements commercial and compliance requirements to assure suitability of the technical solution.\nAssure the integration of the BESS projects into the SCADA and AM systems.Handover\n\nSupport Technical Asset Management (TAM) on Q/A and commissioning related matter including control systemsOperations\n\nSupport TAM with technical expertise on performance related issues, RCAs, repowering\nDisseminate lessons learned and technical commercial information on BESS related matters to wider Engineering Team and other business functions.\n Skills and Qualifications:\n\nDegree in Electrical Engineering () or a related technical discipline.\nMinimum of 5 years proven experience as a project engineer, consultant or Engineering Manager in grid scale BESS projects.\nStrong technical understanding of BESS systems, including battery technologies and design, PCS, modular and integrated systems, LV systems, auxiliaries.\nFamiliarity with BESS control and communicating systems (BMS, EMS)\nProven knowledge of BESS safety system and related standards.\nFamiliarity with grid-connection requirements.\nAwareness of route‑to‑market considerations for BESS assets\nExperience with O&M requirements and asset life-cycle requirements highly desirable
