This role would suit someone who already has experience in BMS/BeMS service and support, as well as someone from an HVAC, electrical, controls or control-panel background who is looking to develop a career within the BEMS industry.The most important things to us are technical ability, the right attitude and a willingness to learn.About the RoleWorking primarily across West Yorkshire and the surrounding areas, you will become part of an experienced controls team supporting customers and their building management systems.The role will involve a mixture of planned maintenance, fault finding, technical support and small works, with the opportunity to develop your knowledge of BEMS and building controls.Depending on your existing experience, your responsibilities will include:Carrying out planned preventative maintenance on BEMS and control systemsAttending reactive service calls and diagnosing faultsFault finding on electrical and control systemsWorking with HVAC plant and associated control systemsChecking controllers, sensors, actuators and other field devicesReading and understanding electrical and control-panel schematicsCarrying out small repairs, modifications and upgradesSupporting commissioning and system improvementsIdentifying opportunities to improve system performance and energy efficiencyProviding professional technical support to customersCompleting service reports and maintaining accurate system documentationWorking alongside the wider engineering team on projects and customer requirementsWho We're Looking ForWe are open to candidates at different stages of their careers.You may already be an experienced BeMS/BMS Service or Support Engineer, or you may have a background in another related industry and be looking for the opportunity to move into building controls.Relevant backgrounds could include:BEMS / BMS service or commissioningHVAC service engineeringElectrical engineeringControl-panel wiring and testingBuilding services engineeringIndustrial controls or automationElectrical maintenancePLC or control systemsYou don't need to know everything about BEMS to apply.If you have good electrical or controls knowledge, can fault find, understand schematics and have a genuine interest in learning how building control systems work, we would like to hear from you.What We're Looking ForGood technical ability and a practical approach to problem solvingElectrical, HVAC, controls or BEMS experienceAn ability to read electrical/control schematicsGood fault-finding skillsAn interest in Building Energy Management Systems and building controlsA willingness to learn new technologies and develop your skillsGood communication and customer-facing skillsA positive attitude and ability to work as part of a teamAbility to work independently when requiredFull UK driving licenceAbility to travel throughout West Yorkshire and surrounding areasBEMS experience is advantageous but not essential for the right candidate.Training & DevelopmentAt Open Control Solutions, we recognise that good engineers don't all come from the same background.We provide an individual training and development plan designed around your existing experience and the skills you need to progress within the BEMS industry.For the right person, this could include developing skills in:BEMS service and maintenanceHVAC controlsControl strategiesBMS controllers and field devicesBEMS software and graphicsNetworking and communicationsCommissioningFault finding and diagnosticsEnergy efficiency and system optimisationYou will have the opportunity to learn from experienced engineers and develop your knowledge through practical, hands-on experience.What We OfferAn experienced and supportive engineering teamIndividual training and developmentThe opportunity to build a long-term career in BEMS and controlsExposure to a range of building control systems and technologiesA varied role covering service, support and small worksA company that values its people, culture and developmentThe opportunity to grow with a developing businessInterested?If you are an experienced BEMS engineer, or you're currently working in HVAC, electrical engineering, control panels or another related controls environment and would like to move into BeMS, we'd like to hear from you.Send us your CV and a brief introduction about your current experience and what you're looking to develop in your next role.TPBN1_UKTJ
