Position: Barn Assistant Maintenance Manager
Location: Hulsbosch Dairy Farm LLC – Greensburg, IN 47240
Department: Maintenance
Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Position Summary
The Barn Assistant Maintenance Manager supports the daily operations of the farm’s maintenance department, ensuring all facilities, equipment, and infrastructure operate safely and efficiently. This position assists the Maintenance Manager with supervising maintenance personnel, coordinating work schedules, and prioritizing repairs across the farm. The Assistant Maintenance Manager plays a key role in preventive maintenance planning, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring that cattle barns, farm buildings, and utility systems are properly maintained.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Assist in managing and coordinating daily maintenance operations across farm facilities
• Perform and oversee repairs on cattle barns, farm buildings, and infrastructure
• Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns
• Support preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and equipment failure
• Troubleshoot electrical, plumbing, and mechanical issues as needed
• Ensure compliance with all safety standards and environmental regulations
• Train and support maintenance team members on equipment operation and repair procedures
• Collaborate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and maintenance projects
Qualifications
Education & Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training
• Three years of experience in facility or farm maintenance
• Experience supervising or coordinating maintenance staff is a plus
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and structural systems essential
• Familiarity with cattle barn maintenance and agricultural equipment repairs

• Ability to walk, bend, climb, and stand for extended periods during maintenance activities
• Comfortable working around heavy equipment and livestock
