FinTrust Connect is excited to announce that we have partnered with a well-established financial institution in search of an AVP, Home Finance Operations Manager to lead operations across the residential lending platform. This individual will oversee day-to-day loan processing activities related to owner-occupied, investment, and home equity products, ensuring compliance, quality, and operational efficiency throughout the lending process.

Workplace (On-site, Hybrid, Remote): On-site in Northern New Jersey

Function: Responsible for managing pipeline performance, operational workflow, regulatory compliance, and loan processing/closing efficiency across the residential lending platform.

Requirements:

  • College degree or equivalent business experience

  • Minimum of 5 years in residential lending operations within retail, wholesale, or mortgage banking
  • Experience with owner-occupied, investment, and home equity lending
  • Familiarity with FNMA/FHLMC and investor/agency guidelines

  • Solid understanding of secondary market practices and procedures

  • Deep knowledge of regulatory frameworks including TRID, Dodd-Frank, and HMDA
  • Experience with LOS and compliance software (Mortgagebot/Finastra and Questsoft )
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)

Description:

  • Oversee residential loan operations, ensuring all applications are processed, underwritten, and closed in alignment with internal policies and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor daily pipeline activity to ensure turnaround targets and quality expectations are consistently met
  • Collaborate with underwriting, closing, and sales leaders to troubleshoot issues and drive timely resolutions
  • Implement operational improvements, updated policies, and internal controls in partnership with leadership
  • Support hiring, training, and professional development across the home finance team
  • Assist in budgeting, cost control strategies, and strategic planning with department leadership
  • Oversee the administration and usage of systems such as Mortgagebot/Finastra LOS & POS, Laser Pro, and Questsoft
  • Ensure accurate data reporting for LAR tracking and HMDA compliance
