Transdev is actively seeking technicians for their Transit service serving Lakewood, WA. We are looking for qualified and experienced fleet technicians to diagnose and repair vehicles and equipment, with daily safety inspections, under general supervision.

What you will be doing:
\n
- \n
- Repairs and maintains a fleet of gas powered Ford cutaway type ADA vehicles along with all support vehicles.
- Inspects and tests equipment at prescribed intervals of time and usage or upon malfunction or breakdown.
- Inspects, tests, and aligns bus lights and wheels and maintains electrical systems and controls. Balances wheels to minimize wear on tires and rotates wheels at prescribed mileage intervals. Tunes up engine to maintain combustion control standards. Adjusts equipment to standards set by Company and client required inspections and safety standards.
- Disassembles, inspects, and replaces worn or broken parts. Fits and adjusts new or repaired parts
- Test drives repaired equipment and performs road calls as needed.
- Uses hoist wrenches, gauges, drills or grinders, or other specialized mechanic tools and equipment.
- Performs essential job functions in accordance with company mandated safety standards. Attends and successfully completes all company required training and safety meetings.
- Oils and greases vehicles; changes filters. Refuels vehicles as required.

What you will need?
\n
- \n
- 2 ASE Certifications required within 6 months of hire.
- DOT medical (company paid) certification
- Three (3) years recent progressive automotive mechanical experience required.
- Additional training from mechanical/technical schools, courses, or seminars are desirable.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience in diagnostic computer equipment required.
- Must have a basic understanding of the design, adjustment, overhaul operation and maintenance of transmissions, heavy-duty engines, and other bus components.
- Must be able to work amid constant interruptions and be able to prioritize, be detail oriented and deal with time pressures.
- Must have good communication skills and able to communicate concerns, questions, and diagnostic information.
- Must be autonomous and be self-directed.
- Must have basic math skills.
- Must be able to take direction and instruction well.
- Basic 2-way radio skills required.
- Basic tools required. Equivalent to 4 years experience
- Must have clean driving record.
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical examination including a drug test.
