Automotive System Calibration Engineer

During their training period (first 4 months): All positions will be 1st shift, M-F, 8am-5pm. Post training period this will be 3rd shift, Sun-Thu, 10pm-6:30am Onsite 5 days a week.  All positions may occasionally be required to support remotely on weekends.

Required: BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics

 

Minimum Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in automotive engineering with engine knowledge

• Experience with AVL PUMA/IndiCom/CAMEO and ETAS INCA software

 

Key Responsibilities

• Track and report on testing progress and issues

• Develop and execute first-time capable tests for calibration and hardware development

• Lead diagnosis and resolution of issues that occur during setup and testing

• Actively participate in Product Development Teams and work with Technical Experts to improve current tests and develop new tests. This may involve comprehending related ECU algorithms and associated calibration process

• Apply and create post processing tools to assure data quality and track usefulness of data in of final calibration or reports

Responsible for running an engine in a variety of different test cells to test the engines.  20 or so different tests they call “standard work” that you would run for a particular engine. You will be managing an engine and the engine will be going through different calibrations, coordinating manual tasks or test automation tasks.  Working with engine in the dyno cells, some of the testing is more automated on a script.  Runs through a procedure on its own.  Overseeing the pallet build of the engine, review all hardware, making sure it meets the needs of that engine.
