Automotive Inventory Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking an Automotive Inventory Specialist to support our client’s Fleet Services Organization in Garner, NC. This role focuses on managing inventory, coordinating supply chain activities, and supporting garage operations across multiple locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive parts and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory & Supply Chain Management:

• Assist Supervisor with supply operations for transportation equipment.
• Manage inventory across multiple storerooms, including cycle counts, min-max evaluations, and parts disposition.
• Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move inventory.
• Use Power BI and Maximo to monitor and correct inventory and invoicing data.
• Maintain a 30-day supply of working stock items and manage warranty returns.
• Oversee inventory for mobile trucks and storm support trailers.
• Coordinate with vendors for obsolete item recovery and special orders.

Administrative Support:

• Process invoices and reconcile vendor accounts.
• Manage timesheets and expense reports for garage employees.
• Update Maximo with service repairs, work orders, and asset data.
• Assist with preventive maintenance scheduling, licensing, and asset reassignment.
• Handle facilities requests, travel arrangements, onboarding, and mail processing.

Additional Duties:

• Review new products and coordinate testing.
• Assign stock numbers and create purchase requisitions.
• Identify and resolve stocking issues across garages.
• Expedite delivery of non-stock items and coordinate returns.
• Visit outlying garages to maintain inventory and assess needs.
• Support audits and correct storeroom discrepancies.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in automotive parts or inventory management.
• Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
