The Automation Technician is responsible for maintaining troubleshooting, and improving electrical and automation systems to ensure optimal production efficiency, safety and quality.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, and equipment in a manufacturing environment.
· Troubleshoot and resolve issues with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors and other automation components.
· Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical and control systems.
· Collaborate with engineering and production teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.
· Read and interpret electrical schematics blueprints and technical manuals.
· Ensure compliance with safety standards, electrical codes, and company policies.
· Assist in commissioning new equipment and upgrading existing systems.
· Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and system changes.
Requirements:
Technical Requirements – Education, Areas of Knowledge and Experience:
· Associate degree or technical diploma in Electrical Technology, Automation, or related field.
· 3+ years of experience in industrial electrical and automation Systems.
· Proficiency with PLC programming and troubleshooting (e.g., Allen-Bradley).
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
· Experience in beverage, food or consumer good manufacturing industry.
Behavioral Requirements - Personal Skills and Competencies:
· Strong mechanical, electrical and manufacturing experience
· Act competently in emergencies
· Organized and detail-oriented
· Ability to follow all safety guidelines for all, hand tools, power tools, processing, packaging, pneumatic, hydraulic equipment.
· Ability to use Microsoft applications, Excel, Word, etc.
· Ability to be proficient using CMMS system
· Ability to work successfully with all maintenance and operations personnel.
