We’re looking for a detail-oriented Automation Technician to join our manufacturing team in Albany, Oregon. In this role, you’ll install, troubleshoot, and maintain automated equipment and control systems to support continuous operations. This is a hands-on technical position requiring strong electrical and programming skills, particularly with Allen-Bradley PLCs. An active Oregon LME (Limited Maintenance Electrician) license is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial automation equipment
- Program, modify, and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMIs
- Perform regular maintenance on VFDs, sensors, and control panels
- Use ladder logic and function block programming to optimize system performance
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement process improvements
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and changes to control logic
- Ensure compliance with all OSHA and NFPA 70E safety standards
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Oregon LME License
- 2+ years of experience in automation or electrical maintenance
- Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, or MicroLogix)
- Proven ability to program, modify, and troubleshoot PLCs and HMIs
- Familiarity with Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, and industrial communication protocols
- Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, mechanical, and control systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications:
- Experience with SCADA systems and industrial networking
- Background in manufacturing, food production, or heavy industrial environments
- Knowledge of NEC codes and Lockout/Tagout procedures
- Technical degree or certification in Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or a related field
