We’re looking for a detail-oriented Automation Technician to join our manufacturing team in Albany, Oregon. In this role, you’ll install, troubleshoot, and maintain automated equipment and control systems to support continuous operations. This is a hands-on technical position requiring strong electrical and programming skills, particularly with Allen-Bradley PLCs. An active Oregon LME (Limited Maintenance Electrician) license is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial automation equipment
  • Program, modify, and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMIs
  • Perform regular maintenance on VFDs, sensors, and control panels
  • Use ladder logic and function block programming to optimize system performance
  • Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement process improvements
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and changes to control logic
  • Ensure compliance with all OSHA and NFPA 70E safety standards

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid Oregon LME License
  • 2+ years of experience in automation or electrical maintenance
  • Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, or MicroLogix)
  • Proven ability to program, modify, and troubleshoot PLCs and HMIs
  • Familiarity with Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, and industrial communication protocols
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, mechanical, and control systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications:

  • Experience with SCADA systems and industrial networking
  • Background in manufacturing, food production, or heavy industrial environments
  • Knowledge of NEC codes and Lockout/Tagout procedures
  • Technical degree or certification in Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or a related field
