Job DescriptionWe’re hiring an experienced Automation Technician with strong hands-on experience in PLC programming and robotic integration to support ongoing innovation in advanced manufacturing. You'll play a critical role in implementing fully automated systems and retrofitting robotics into CNC machines. From control panel assembly to system programming and testing, this role offers the opportunity to lead end-to-end automation projects in a fast-paced and highly collaborative setting.
Responsibilities
- Build, wire, and install PLC control panels and connect to motors, sensors, and pneumatic systems
- Program PLCs using ladder logic and coordinate communication between CNC machines and automation systems
- Design and install robot programs to enable automated material handling and machine operations
- Troubleshoot and test automation components including sensors, relays, motors, and safety systems
- Source and manage the installation of new automation equipment, including conveyors, load/unload systems, and part handling devices
- Read and create schematics and drawings for automation layouts and wiring diagrams
- Reverse-engineer robotics and integrate into existing CNC milling and turning equipment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on design concepts, performance testing, and process improvements
- Coordinate with third-party contractors and vendors during equipment installations or upgrades
- Analyze performance data and employee feedback to refine systems and improve reliability
- Participate in the design of tooling, fixtures, and pallet changers to optimize production flow
Qualifications and Requirements
- Technical degree or certification in PLC programming, electronics, or industrial automation
- 2–4 years of experience working with robotics and programmable controls in a manufacturing environment
- Strong working knowledge of low-voltage wiring, sensors, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems
- Proficiency with controllers such as Fanuc, Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or similar platforms
- Solid troubleshooting skills and ability to manage projects independently
- Strong verbal and written communication in English (bilingual a plus)
