BullishIQ is proud to partner with a cutting-edge solid-state battery company pioneering next- lithium battery technology. Their solid-state lithium battery (SSLB) platform enables the creation of lightweight, cost-effective rechargeable batteries for diverse applications, including hearables, wearables, and connected sensors.
As part of their continued growth, our client is seeking a highly motivated Automation Engineer to join their team in a fast-paced, innovative environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who thrives at the intersection of mechanical design and process automation and is eager to help bring automation solutions from concept to deployment.
What You’ll Do:
- Design and develop custom mechanical components and systems for automated manufacturing processes.
- Create detailed CAD models, engineering drawings, and BOMs using industry-standard tools.
- Select and specify key automation components including motors, drives, PLCs, sensors, and vision systems.
- Drive the full automation lifecycle—from concept, prototyping, and testing through to system deployment and maintenance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including process engineers, software engineers, and equipment vendors.
- Optimize existing automation to improve cycle times, ergonomics, and overall system performance.
- Conduct risk assessments, safety reviews, and ensure systems meet relevant standards (ISO, OSHA, etc.).
- Support commissioning activities, troubleshoot issues, and assist in production ramp-up.
- Document system designs, validation plans, and key performance metrics.
What You Should Have:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 - 10+ years of experience in automation system design, mechanical engineering, or industrial equipment development.
- Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor) and mechanical simulation tools.
- Experience with industrial automation hardware (PLCs, HMIs, servos, sensors, etc.).
- Ability to interpret electrical and pneumatic schematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on approach to mechanical and system integration challenges.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
The client offers a comprehensive compensation package for this role, including a base salary, company bonus and equity. The final offer is determined during the interview process and is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, geographic location, internal equity, education, skill set, experience and training.
