A prominent company in the pharmacrutical and wellness industry is seeking a Manufacturing Automation Engineer to enhance their production capabilities. This role focuses on leading automation initiatives for production and packaging systems, driving continuous improvements, and ensuring operational efficiency through hands-on technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement automated solutions for packaging processes, including systems for handling liquids, softgels, and solid forms.
- Provide ongoing support for PLC, HMI, SCADA, and other control systems integral to production lines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with automated equipment to minimize downtime and maintain product quality.
- Optimize production lines using lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to improve efficiency and reduce operational waste.
- Support equipment qualifications and change control processes, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Maintenance, Quality, and Production, to train staff and implement process enhancements.
- Research and recommend innovative automation technologies to advance manufacturing capabilities.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline from a reputable institution.
- Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing automation, ideally within regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, or food production.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMI/SCADA systems, and industrial communication protocols.
- Experience with robotic systems integration and vision inspection technologies.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset for process improvement.
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with production, engineering, and quality teams.
Qualifications
- LEAN certification (e.g., Green Belt or Black Belt) is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0 technologies, IoT, or data analytics tools for predictive maintenance.
