Automation Engineer

The primary responsibilities of this role include; •Assist the Automation Process in Implementing Industry 4.0 Technology. •Assist the Automation Process in Implementing New machinery with the Engineering Department. •Design mechanical systems for new, or modify existing, automated machinery to automate manufacturing processes. •Design and specify some electrical components for custom automated industrial machines - Coordinate with other engineers and manufacturing and assembly to ensure design intent and cost-effectiveness of production are achieved. •Establish technical manuals, drawings, training documentation, preventative maintenance plans, and troubleshooting guides for newly established automated equipment/processes. •Manage individual project budgets and schedules and routinely report progress. •Design and plan electrical systems, including power, communications, and data. •Design systems using PLC programs, robotics, and sensor technologies. •Maintain systems for installation, integration, and operation. •Maintain and upgrade control systems. •Use engineering design software to create, modify, and analyze project schematics. •General inspection of all the machines with respect to running condition of the equipment, wear & tear, and performance of the unit. •Proactive maintenance: Find issues on the machines and solving it with maintenance team to avoid unnecessary breakdown on the system. •Allocate tasks to subordinates for solving any pending issues or breakdown or runtime rectification jobs. •Support machine start-up and maintain smooth operations for continuous production as per the plan. •Prepare procedures for maintenance activities. Monitor and ensure that procedures are in place and implemented for all maintenance-related activities. •Maintain spare parts for the maintenance-related activities (critical spare parts lists). •Meet suppliers for procuring various spares parts, tools, plant maintenance equipment. Liaise with Supply Chain Department for the same. •Coordinate with external contractors for projects. Review technical specifications for newly procured items and outsourced items. •Cross-verify electrical parameters and machine performance data. Cross-verify maintenance activities through history cards and team subordinates log records. •Carry out hands-on maintenance activities to rectify breakdowns, and repairs and solve problems. Analyze and adopt new and innovative solutions to avoid any repeats (breakdowns) in the future. •Adhere to OH&S and environmental requirements defined by OSE. #J-18808-Ljbffr
