Express Employment Professionals is partnering with a well-established custom manufacturing company in Tumwater, WA, that is growing its technical team and hiring for both an AutoCAD Drafter and a Casework Engineer.
These are great opportunities for candidates with experience in AutoCAD, casework, architectural drafting, engineering, commercial construction, manufacturing, or similar technical environments. The company works on detailed commercial interior projects for healthcare facilities, professional offices, specialty retail spaces, and other commercial environments.
We are looking for candidates at different experience levels:
• AutoCAD Drafter: $25.00-$29.00/hr DOE. Previous casework drafting experience is required.
• Casework Engineer: $27.00-$32.00/hr DOE. Casework engineering experience is a plus, but candidates with relevant architectural, mechanical, manufacturing, millwork, or commercial engineering/design experience will also be considered.
Both positions are full-time, Monday through Friday, and are available as Evaluation-to-Hire opportunities. Direct Hire may also be available for experienced engineering candidates depending on background and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Depending on the position and level of experience, responsibilities may include:
• Create and revise detailed shop drawings using AutoCAD and related drafting software
• Develop complete submittal sets and production/installation packages
• Work with casework, millwork, solid surface, architectural metals, stone, and related commercial interior components
• Interpret architectural plans, drawings, and specifications for accuracy and project requirements
• Translate project plans into detailed drawings and production-ready documentation
• Utilize Bluebeam for plan review, markups, revisions, and project coordination
• Incorporate field measurements, redlines, and project feedback into drawings
• Coordinate with drafting, engineering, project management, and production teams
• Maintain organized drawing, engineering, and project documentation
• Review work thoroughly for accuracy, constructability, and compliance
What You Bring:
• Proficiency in AutoCAD required
• Previous casework drafting experience required for the AutoCAD Drafter position
• Casework engineering experience is for the Casework Engineer position, but relevant experience in architectural, mechanical, manufacturing, millwork, commercial construction, or similar engineering/design environments will be considered
• Ability to read and interpret architectural or engineering plans and specifications
• Experience translating drawings and specifications into fabrication, production, and/or installation documentation
• Microvellum experience , but not required
• Bluebeam experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Familiarity with LEED, FSC, FGI, and AWI guidelines is a plus
• Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and accuracy
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Positive attitude and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
