JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will produce engineering drawings using AutoCAD Mechanical. In the course of their work, they shall issue new part numbers as required, utilize AutoDesk Vault Professional Document Management System, manage Hard Copy Drawing Files, and assist in developing and executing the overall marketing strategy for BS&B affiliate companies worldwide.
Responsibilities:
- All drafting is performed using AutoCAD and ANSI Y14.5 Drafting Standards.
- Interpret information supplied by Engineers and work closely with Engineers to produce assembly and detailed drawings required for Sales Orders, new product release or product improvements.
- Check drawings done by self and others for continuity, errors, spelling, grammar, etc.
- Using existing product template drawings, produce Sales and Certified drawings with minimal engineering input.
- File hard copies of drawings in secure storage area/vault as needed.
- Pull drawings, make copies and distribute as needed.
- Perform Standard Release of documents as needed.
- Fill out document control forms such as ECN’s to maintain document control per BS&B’s ISO manual.
- Process documents (ECN’s, drawings, Manufacturing Standards, Special Engineering Instructions, etc.) in AutoDesk Vault Professional
- Create other engineering documents using Microsoft Excel or Word as required.
- Interface with other departments and other BS&B locations (Limerick, Mexico, India, etc.) on drawing issues. Some complicated projects are a joint effort between Tulsa and other locations.
- Must be able to work on multiple projects in a given time frame with more than one Engineer at a time.
- Track and log orders that are processing through the Engineering Department.
- Process and track Engineering Changes (ECN’s) per internal policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Engineering duties / tasks other than drafting is required.
Work within BS&B safety guidelines.
Work within BS&B Engineering Work Instructions and ISO Quality Manual.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
High School Graduate (or GED), Completion of an Accredited Drafting Program
Experience:
2 years AutoCAD Mechanical in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge:
AutoCAD Mechanical, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
Mental/Physical/Visual Demands: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Frequently needs to talk and hear. Occasionally stands, walks and sits, as well as using hands to touch or feel, and arms to reach.
Working Conditions: General office conditions. Moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic).
Equipment/Tools Used: Must possess the ability to learn the computer system and work with company enterprise software. Frequently uses office equipment such as telephones, facsimile machine, photocopier, LCD projector, etc.
Safety: Safe work performance is required from each employee at all times. Additionally, the proper discharge of safety responsibilities is an integral part of each employee’s performance appraisal.
