Audit Manager – Public Accounting
Location: Hybrid | Chicago & Suburbs

We are partnering with a growing CPA firm seeking an Audit Manager to join their team in a highly visible leadership role. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with clients across multiple industries while leading engagements, developing staff, and serving as a key advisor to both clients and internal leadership.

Responsibilities
- Lead and manage audit, review, and assurance engagements from planning through completion
- Oversee multiple client engagements simultaneously while ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met
- Review financial statements and workpapers for accuracy and compliance with applicable standards
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and build strong long term relationships
- Supervise, mentor, and develop audit staff and seniors through coaching and performance feedback
- Identify process improvement opportunities and provide value added recommendations to clients
- Collaborate with firm leadership on practice development initiatives and client service strategies
- Assist with engagement budgeting, staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Support recruiting, training, and team development efforts as needed
Qualifications
- Active CPA required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master’s
- 5+ years of public accounting experience with progressive audit responsibilities
- Previous experience leading engagements and supervising staff required
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, GAAS, and financial reporting requirements
- Experience working with privately held companies, middle market clients, or closely held businesses
- Strong communication, leadership, and client relationship management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
