Associate Structural Engineer\n\nCardiff – Commutable from Swansea, Newport, Pontcanna, Canton, and Roath\n\n£60,000 - £75,000 + Hybrid Working + Tier 1 Consultancy + Autonomy + Major Projects\n\nWe have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Associate Structural Engineer to join a highly regarded Civil & Structural team in Cardiff. This is a key leadership role focused on project delivery, management, and business development.\n\nYou’ll be part of a growing Civil & Structural division (250+ staff) while working closely with a multidisciplinary regional office in Cardiff (90+ staff across MEP, Fire, Acoustics, Geo, Transport, Energy and Sustainability).\n\nThe Role\n\nAs an experienced structural engineering designer, you will:\n\n * Lead project delivery, overseeing all aspects including resourcing and commercial management.\n\n * Manage and mentor engineers and technicians, promoting design innovation, sustainability and technical excellence.\n\n * Ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards in line with quality assurance and health & safety procedures.\n\n * Take responsibility for management areas including:\n\n * Resource planning\n\n * Staff HR issues and team development\n\n * Identifying and resolving team challenges\n\n * Change control and additional fees\n\n * Financial performance and reporting\n\n * Design innovation and divisional initiatives\n\n * Contractual and commercial matters\n\n * Contribute to business development through sales planning, project bids, tender interviews, client management and networking.\n\n * Support marketing materials, business planning and financial budgeting.\n\nAbout You\n\n * MEng or BEng in Civil, Architectural or Structural Engineering.\n\n * Chartered (or working towards) with IStructE or ICE.\n\n * Significant experience in building structures and development design.\n\n * Strong technical design and drawing skills, including hand calculations.\n\n * Proficient in analysis and design software packages.\n\n * Understanding of BIM requirements up to and including Level 2.\n\n * Self-motivated team player with excellent communication skills.\n\n * Ability to contribute to business development and client relationships.\n\n * Ambitious and aligned with the values of a collaborative, forward-thinking consultancy.\n\nWhat’s on Offer\n\n * Competitive salary and benefits package.\n\n * Clearly defined career progression opportunities.\n\n * Exposure to a wide variety of engaging projects.\n\n * Collaborative, people-focused culture with support across multiple disciplines.\n\n * Flexible working options.\n\n * Commitment to , equity and
