The Associate Laboratory Instrument Engineer is responsible for minimizing downtime of instrumentation throughout Aegis’ laboratories primarily through planned preventive maintenance activities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled maintenance and calibration activities
- Assist other Associate Laboratory Instrument Engineers and Laboratory Instrument Engineers with tasks as required, i.e., 2-person lift, instrument relocation, installation or deinstallation
- Create and update maintenance procedures
- Maintain accurate and up to date documentation of all activities appropriately
- Alert management of any risks in laboratory areas which could impact health, safety, or production goals
- Maintain tools, spare parts, and work areas in an organized and clean manner
- Participate in training and self-learning activities to gain skills beyond maintenance for further career development
- Participate in process improvements, including process definition, measurement analysis, and implementation of controls
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and corporate goals
- Communicate with coworkers, clients, vendors, and visitors professionally and respectfully
- Other duties as required and assigned
Successful Candidates Must Possess:
- Bachelor of Science degree required; degree in an Applied Science field, Engineering, or related discipline
- Must have a minimum of one (1) year of experience with LC, GC, MS, MS/MS, Immunoassay, and/or liquid handling instrumentation OR have successfully completed an in Instrument Reliability
- Must have ability to obtain and use training as an Instrumentation Engineer, including both in-house and vendor-provided technical training including:
- Sciex (offsite) training
- Successfully complete Basic troubleshooting competency requirements for all instrumentation and equipment in the laboratories
- Infrastructure and utilities operation
- Must have mechanical/electrical aptitude
- Strong computer skills including experience with instrumentation software required
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively with others
Schedule:
- Monday - Friday from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm
