JOB OVERVIEW:
The Field Service Technician applies diversified knowledge of Power Distribution Units (PDUs), Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPSs), and Remote Power Panels (RPPs) from Raptor Power Systems to complete startup, testing, troubleshooting, modifications, operation, and maintenance work. The Technician will be homebased and dispatched to customer sites as required. This role requires travel up to 75%.
JOB LOCATION:
Richmond, VA (High-travel role; Applicant can be based out of Richmond Area or surrounding; Times of high-travel will include physically working in locations within the U.S. that will vary by customer need on an active, non-regular schedule, which can include weekends; Times of low-travel can include working from home, working at various internal Company sites, recruiting locally for additional team members, and attending relevant training programs locally/remotely.)
JOB DUTIES:
- Startup and commissioning of new units.
- Maintenance and Repair: Responsible for maintaining and providing emergency support for Raptor Power Systems equipment at customer sites within the regional coverage area.
- Modifications: Implement field modifications, follow procedures generated from the back office, and provide feedback on said procedures as needed.
- Training and Development: Attend periodic training at Raptor Power Systems headquarters on various OEM units and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including testing equipment and rebuilding older systems.
- Troubleshooting: Work with the technical support group to troubleshoot maintenance or operational issues with equipment.
- Field Service Reporting: Generate Field Service Reports (FSRs) that are clear, professional, and completed in a timely manner.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience: is 2+ years of experience in the critical power industry, with proven skills in troubleshooting down to the component level on equipment such as PDUs (Power Distribution Units), UPSs (Uninterruptible Power Supplies), and RPPs (Remote Power Panels). Alternative to is 4 years of service in the armed forces in a STEM-related role is also considered valuable experience.
- Technical Skills: Utilize hand tools and test equipment to perform work.
- Valid driver’s license: Must have a valid drivers license and a driving record without legal violations for last 7 years.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong customer relation skills. ESL is welcome, must be able to read, write, understand and verbally communicate in English with full proficiency.
- Customer Service: Provide a high level of quality customer service and complete Field Service Reports in a timely manner.
- Autonomous: Ability to work independently and exhibit resourcefulness.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform repeated bending and lifting of up to 70 lbs. during certain procedures.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work nights and weekends when necessary.
- Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of general computer hardware and software applications.
- Education: associate degree in electronics, EST, or equivalent military experience required.
COMPENSATION:
- Pay range: Annual Salary $60,000-70,000 plus Overtime. Company pays Weekly.
