SUMMARY: The Junior Estimator supports the Lead Estimator in preparing accurate and competitive estimates for exterior siding and roofing projects. This role involves gathering and reviewing project specifications and assisting in the preparation of customer proposals. The Junior Estimator helps ensure all estimates are thorough, timely, and aligned with company standards. This position is ideal for someone detail-oriented and eager to learn the full estimating process in a fast-paced construction environment.
The ideal candidate is an entry-level estimating professional with a solid foundation in estimating or construction principles and a strong desire to learn and grow within a company that values development and long-term career progression.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Produce estimates in a timely fashion, according to the bid schedules that are created by the Lead Estimator.
- Speak with customers during the bidding process, keeping them up to date on the progress of their estimate.
- Ask customers questions as needed to clarify needs/scope and send RFI’s (requests for information) as needed to put together a complete estimate.
- Review all plans and specifications at time of bid to ensure accuracy.
- Produce well-written, detailed, accurate proposals for our bids, with project specific inclusions and exclusions, in addition to many boilerplate items.
- Ensure proposals clearly outline our scope; detailed to the point that we could almost build the project based on the proposal.
- Follow up with customers on a regular basis after submitting bids. Get feedback and ultimately close deals with customers.
- Maintain accurate and up to date bid information in the company’s CRM pipeline software (ServiceTitan). This includes schedule information, feedback on pricing, contact information, and % hot fields or more.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Utilize company resources, such as our Hover software, to assist in the bid process.
- Other related duties as assigned.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or six months to one-year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school .
- Demonstrated proficiency with reading and writing skills - emails, letters, proposals.
- Computer skills required: Microsoft Office products.
- Training will be provided on additional software, including but not limited to: PlanSwift, ServiceTitan, Auto Desk, Hover, and Adobe
- Prior experience or functional knowledge of these programs would be .
WORK HOURS & LOCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- This position requires full-time, on-site presence at our Lakewood, New Jersey offices (08701).
- The standard schedule is Monday – Friday. This job may occasionally require longer hours to meet bid deadlines.
