We are seeking a motivated Associate Electrical Engineer to join our Baton Rouge office and begin building a career in energy and infrastructure.

Position Overview

The Associate Electrical Engineer will work under the guidance of senior engineers to support the design and development of electrical systems for capital projects, including well pad facilities, central gathering stations, terminals, and saltwater disposals. This role provides a unique opportunity to learn project execution from concept to commissioning while gaining hands-on exposure to design, specification, and procurement processes.

The position will report directly to Derek Blough, Engineering Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers with electrical design and specification work.

• Support in developing equipment specifications (transformers, panels, cable, etc.).

• Help prepare electrical drawings including one-lines, arc-flash studies, and layout diagrams.

• Participate in the development of technical specifications for secondary power systems.

• Contribute to cost estimates, schedules, engineered drawings, specifications, and datasheets.

• Collaborate with project managers, vendors, and field staff to ensure project success.

• Learn applicable codes and standards (NEC and related industry regulations).

• Support project execution and commissioning activities with occasional field visits (5–10% travel).

Required Qualifications

• Must have the right to work and remain in the U.S. without sponsorship.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering .

• Strong academic foundation in power systems, instrumentation, or controls.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with AutoCAD or similar software is a plus.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Willingness to learn, collaborate, and take initiative in a team-oriented environment.

• Ability to pass an in-depth background check and drug screening.

Qualifications

• , co-op, or capstone project experience in oil & gas, utilities, or industrial systems.

• Familiarity with low voltage (480V) power distribution systems.
