Job Description
Do you enjoy leading projects, mentoring engineers, and working across a varied client base?\nAre you looking for long-term progression with genuine work–life balance?\nWe’re working exclusively with a well-established, design-led building services consultancy to recruit a Principal or Associate Electrical Engineer. The business is deliberately being kept confidential at this stage but offers stability, senior leadership support, and outstanding career development.\nThis role can be based in Reading with hybrid working available.\nThe Role\nYou’ll play a key role in the technical delivery and leadership of electrical design services across a broad range of projects, including commercial, residential and mission-critical environments.\nKey responsibilities include:\n * \n Leading the electrical design delivery on multi-disciplinary projects\n * \n Developing strategic electrical concepts in line with client briefs and regulations\n * \n Acting as a client-facing technical lead, attending and contributing to project meetings\n * \n Supporting resource planning, management and project profitability\n * \n Mentoring and developing junior engineers, graduates and apprentices\n * \n Collaborating closely with mechanical, sustainability and other internal teams\nAbout You\nYou’ll ideally bring:\n * \n Proven experience at Senior, Principal or Associate Electrical Engineer level\n * \n Consultancy or design-led background within building services\n * \n Strong client-facing and stakeholder management experience\n * \n Technical proficiency with tools such as BIM, Revit, Dialux/Relux or similar\n * \n A collaborative leadership style and passion for developing others\nSalary & Package\n * \n Salary: £55,000 – £75,000 (depending on level and experience)\n * \n Car allowance (Associate level)\n * \n Private medical insurance\n * \n 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, with the option to buy or sell leave\n * \n Flexible working pattern – option to work longer hours and have every other Friday off\n * \n Excellent work–life balance\n * \n Exposure to a wide variety of projects and clients\n * \n Clear, structured progression working alongside a long-standing and highly respected manager\nThis is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Electrical Engineer looking for long-term growth within a stable, forward-thinking consultancy environment
