This opportunity sits within their growing Building Services division, specifically focused on major infrastructure projects. The Heathrow team works on critical projects at one of Europe's busiest airports, supported by a broader network of multidisciplinary teams across the South East.



Role Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Associate or Associate Director - Electrical Engineer to take a senior leadership role in the delivery of high-profile building services projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for both technical design oversight and client-facing project delivery.



This is a hybrid role with flexibility in office location and remote working. It offers the chance to work alongside industry-leading professionals within a collaborative and forward-thinking team environment.



Key Responsibilities

Project & Technical Leadership

Lead electrical building services design from concept through delivery.



Prepare and review detailed and performance specifications in line with relevant regulations.



Incorporate innovative technologies, net zero strategies, and modern methods of construction.



Manage design stages across the RIBA plan of work and liaise with multidisciplinary teams.



Client Engagement & Business Development

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring satisfaction and quality delivery.



Identify new opportunities and contribute to business development strategies.



Represent the team at external meetings and champion technical excellence.



Team & Operational Management

Oversee resource planning, workload distribution, and project progress.



Mentor and line-manage engineers at varying career levels.



Contribute to team development, recruitment, and knowledge sharing.



Participate in regular internal meetings on project performance, H&S, and staff wellbeing.



Electrical Design Expertise

Applicants should have a strong understanding and demonstrable experience in:

Low voltage power distribution

Electrical cable sizing and calculations (using ElectricalOM, Amtech or manual methods)

Lighting design and energy-efficient systems

Fire alarm and life safety systems

Power and small power layouts

Data, communications, and IT infrastructure

Security, access control, and intruder alarm systems

Disabled call and assistance systems

Lightning protection schemes



Candidate Requirements

Strong track record in delivering electrical building services designs within the UK

Ability to lead teams, liaise with clients, and manage technical outputs

Familiarity with UK regulations, standards, and design codes

Proven project and commercial awareness

BPSS security clearance (or eligibility) is essential
