What’s the role
As an Associate Engineer – Tech Reporting and Digital, you will lead delivery from the Chennai team to SEAM, ensuring high-quality outputs, timely execution, and effective stakeholder communication. The role involves preparing and presenting business insights and visualizations using Power BI to support decision-making. You will support leadership in performance analysis, benchmarking, and KPI tracking across production and asset management, while ensuring accurate data handling for reports and appraisals. Additionally, you will drive process excellence through standardization, automation, and documentation, lead continuous improvement initiatives, and share best practices. The position requires managing projects independently under tight timelines, collaborating across time zones, and maintaining clear, concise business communication while upholding compliance and confidentiality standards.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead delivery from the Chennai team to SEAM, ensuring quality, timeliness, and effective communication with stakeholders. Prepare and present business insights and visualizations (Power BI) to support decision-making.
- Support SEAM leadership in performance analysis, benchmarking, and KPI tracking (Production, WRFM, AIPSM, Asset Management). Ensure accurate data handling for appraisals, reports, deferment allocation, and quality checks
- Drive standardization, automation, and documentation (SOPs, Work Instructions). Lead CI initiatives and process benchmarking. Share best practices and promote a learning culture
- Manage and deliver projects independently under tight timelines. Demonstrate strong team collaboration and ability to work across time zones and odd hours when needed
- Write clear, concise business communications. Capture and act on meeting outcomes (MoMs, action points). Maintain awareness of confidentiality and compliance requirements.
What you bring
- University degree in Engineering (preferably Petroleum).
- Proven experience in managing technical data and business reporting.
- Awareness of Oil & Gas production reporting and upstream operations.
- Exposure to Oil & Gas plant operations is an added advantage.
- Understanding of Production Planning, Forecasting, Deferment Reporting, and Asset Management KPIs (Maintenance, Safety).
- Awareness of Asset Hierarchy and Business Performance processes (target setting, variance analysis).
- Basic understanding of Production Information Systems and data usage across WRFM, Finance, etc.
- Awareness in Power BI, data modeling, cleansing, and migration techniques.
- Familiarity with MS Office tools (Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
- Awareness of data visualization and reporting tools.
- Knowing IT skills like SQL, Python, certifications in AI/ML will be an added advantge
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to present business insights and understand stakeholder priorities.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail
