Assistant Site Manager

Avocet Recruitment is working alongside a highly regarded, non PLC housing developer that require an Assistant Site Manager on their new site in Exeter.\n\nThe Role:\n\nAs Assistant Site Manager, you'll work closely with the Site Manager and wider project team to help oversee the day-to-day operations of the site. You will be involved in ensuring the smooth running of the build process, maintaining health and safety standards, quality control, subcontractor coordination, and timely progression of work on site.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n * Support the Site Manager with all aspects of site operations\n\n * Supervise trades and subcontractors, ensuring work is completed to a high standard\n\n * Help ensure health and safety compliance at all times\n\n * Monitor build progress and assist with scheduling and planning\n\n * Conduct quality checks and snagging\n\n * Liaise with suppliers and ensure materials are on site when needed\n\n * Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, consultants, and clients\n\nRequirements:\n\n * Previous experience in a similar role on housing developments\n\n * Strong understanding of the build process from groundwork to handover\n\n * SMSTS or SSSTS, First Aid, and CSCS card (Gold or higher )\n\n * Excellent communication and organisational skills\n\n * Eye for detail and pride in delivering a quality product\n\n * Able to thrive in a collaborative, non-corporate environment\n\nOn offer:\n\n * A stable role with a reputable non-PLC developer\n\n * Competitive salary and benefits package\n\n * Opportunity for professional growth in a supportive environment\n\n * Projects that prioritise quality over quantity\n\nHow to Apply:\n\nIf you're an Assistant Site Manager or an experienced tradesperson ready to take the next step, and want to be part of a business that genuinely cares about its product and people — we’d love to hear from you
