Assistant Resident Engineer

Summary:
The Assistant Resident
Engineer - Water is responsible for supporting the Resident
Engineer in managing the water-related aspects of an infrastructure
project. This role involves overseeing the installation operation
and maintenance of water systems ensuring compliance with project
specifications standards and regulatory requirements. The Assistant
Resident Engineer will assist with site supervision coordination
inspections and technical support to ensure the successful delivery
of water-related works including pipelines drainage and water
treatment systems.

Duties:
- Site
Supervision & Quality
Control:- Assist the Resident
Engineer in supervising the construction of water systems including
pipelines drainage water treatment and associated
infrastructure. - Conduct site inspections to
ensure that water-related works are being carried out according to
design drawings specifications and safety
standards. - Ensure that all water-related works
are compliant with project requirements quality standards and
regulatory
guidelines.
- Assist the Resident

Support &
Coordination:- Provide technical
support to the project team contractors and consultants for
water-related issues during the construction
phase. - Assist in resolving technical issues
related to water systems including drainage potable water networks
and wastewater treatment. - Coordinate with the
project team contractors and other departments to ensure the smooth
execution of water-related
activities.

- Inspection
& Testing:- Supervise and
coordinate the inspection and testing of materials and workmanship
for water systems ensuring compliance with technical specifications
and standards. - Oversee the commissioning and
handover of completed water-related works ensuring all tests and
documentation are completed as
required.

& Reporting:- Assist in
maintaining accurate records of water-related works including daily
progress reports inspection logs and material
approvals. - Document any issues discrepancies or
changes related to water systems and report them to the Resident
Engineer. - Prepare regular reports on the status
of water-related works for senior management and
stakeholders.

Compliance:- Ensure that all
water-related construction activities comply with health and safety
regulations site safety plans and environmental
standards. - Conduct regular safety audits and
attend safety meetings to promote a culture of safety on-site
particularly for water
systems.

Reviews &
Approvals:- Review and approve
contractor submittals related to water systems including shop
drawings material submittals and method
statements. - Ensure that all water-related
submittals are in line with the contract documents and project
specifications.
- Review and approve
- Schedule
& Progress
Monitoring:- Assist in monitoring
the progress of water-related works to ensure that activities are
completed on schedule. - Identify potential
delays and work with contractors to develop mitigation plans to
avoid project schedule
disruptions.
- Assist in monitoring
- Stakeholder
& Contractor
Communication:- Coordinate with
contractors local authorities and other stakeholders to address any
concerns or issues related to water
systems. - Ensure effective communication between
all parties involved in water-related works including the
resolution of any conflicts or technical
issues.

Documentation Management:- Assist
in managing and organizing all project documentation related to
water systems ensuring proper archiving and
retrieval. - Ensure that all relevant permits
approvals and certificates for water systems are in place and up to
date.

- Environmental
Compliance:- Monitor water
management practices on-site to ensure compliance with
environmental regulations such as stormwater management wastewater
treatment and pollution control. - Ensure that
all water-related works are designed and implemented in an
environmentally sustainable
manner.

Qualifications
:
- Bachelors
Degree in Civil Engineering with 15 years of experience in
Construction Supervision and Management including roles as Senior
Engineer or Assistant Resident
Engineer. - Professional Engineering (PE) license
or equivalent certification in the field of water resources or
environmental engineering. - Extensive knowledge
of water systems including pipelines drainage and water treatment
infrastructure. - Proven experience in managing
large-scale water-related infrastructure
projects. - Strong understanding of construction
methodologies quality control processes and regulatory requirements
related to water systems. - Proficiency in
reading and interpreting technical drawings specifications and
contract documents. - Excellent problem-solving
skills with the ability to provide innovative solutions to complex
water engineering challenges. - Strong leadership
and communication skills with the ability to effectively coordinate
with diverse project teams and
stakeholders. - Proficiency in project management
software and computer-aided design (CAD)
programs. - Familiarity with environmental
regulations and sustainable water management
practices. - Experience in conducting site
inspections quality audits and safety
assessments.
