Job Description
Assistant Quantity Surveyor\n\nSalary: Up to £45,000 per annum\n Location: London\n Job Type: Permanent \n\nJob Description:\n\nWe are currently looking for a proactive and self-sufficient Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established and dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual keen to progress in their Quantity Surveying career while managing projects with limited supervision from senior management.\n\nIn this role, you will have the chance to take full ownership of your own projects, from initial stages through to final completion, with the support of a collaborative and experienced team. You will be expected to work independently, managing your responsibilities and ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, on time, and within budget.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nAssist with the preparation and management of cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions.\n\nMonitor project costs and assist in the financial reporting and management of projects.\n\nEnsure that projects are delivered within the specified time, cost, and quality requirements.\n\nLiaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers as required.\n\nConduct site visits and assist in measuring and valuing work done.\n\nAssist in contract administration and negotiation.\n\nProvide advice and assistance in managing risk, project scope, and variations.\n\nPrepare and maintain accurate records and documentation in line with project requirements.\n\nKey Skills and Qualifications:\n\nDegree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field (or working towards).\n\nAt least 1-2 years of relevant experience as an Assistant QS, with a solid understanding of surveying practices.\n\nStrong communication and negotiation skills.\n\nAbility to manage tasks independently, demonstrating a proactive approach.\n\nGood knowledge of MS Office, Excel, and relevant surveying software.\n\nExcellent time management skills and the ability to work under pressure.\n\nWhy Join Us?\n\nCompetitive salary up to £45,000.\n\nOpportunity for career progression and professional development.\n\nWork in a dynamic environment where you will have the autonomy to manage your own workload.\n\nIf you're a driven Assistant QS with a passion for growing your career and can work independently, we want to hear from you.
