Assistant Quantity Surveyor

The role & about the client:

 

On behalf of our client, ITS Construction Professionals South are recruiting for a Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a reputable residential construction company based in Portsmouth. 



Key Responsibilities:



Cost estimating and budgeting- detailed cost estimates, develop and manage the projects. 

Prepare documents and evaluate subcontractors and supplier quotes

Assist the QS to ensure everything runs smoothly 

Draft and manage contracts with clients, subcontractors and suppliers. 

Identify and investigate cost variances 

Assess cost implications and prepare and negotiate variations and change orders. 

Prepare and agree final accounts 

Ensure costs and contracts adhere to legal and regulatory requirements.  The ideal candidate will have/be:



Relevant and proven experience working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor for a housebuilder. 

Relevant tickets/ qualifications 

Strong analytical and negotiation skills. 

Strong numeracy and financial management skills 

Commercial awareness 

Clear understanding of the HSE building regulations and all relevant legal requirements. 

Software knowledge in Outlook, Excel, Word, Sage, Eque 2, Project. Please send an up-to-date CV in strict confidence.
