Job Title: Assistant Quantity Surveyor\nLocation: Cotswolds (site-based with some flexibility)\nProject Value: £40 million\nSalary: Competitive, based on experience\nContract Type: Full-Time, Permanent\n\nAbout the Role\n\nWe are seeking a highly motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of a prestigious £40M construction project located in the heart of the Cotswolds. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic site-based commercial team on a high-end, technically complex scheme involving new-build and heritage elements.\n\nReporting to the Project Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Lead, you will assist with key financial and contractual duties throughout the full lifecycle of the project.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Support the management of subcontractor packages, including procurement, valuations, variations, and final accounts\n\n * Assist in preparing monthly CVRs, cost forecasts, and internal reports\n\n * Measure and value works on site in accordance with drawings and specifications\n\n * Attend site meetings and liaise with operational staff and suppliers\n\n * Monitor and manage change control procedures and support commercial risk management\n\n * Ensure all procurement and commercial documentation is properly maintained and updated\n\n * Contribute to the preparation and submission of client applications for payment\n\nRequirements\n\n * Degree-qualified or working towards a qualification in Quantity Surveying (or similar discipline)\n\n * 1–3 years’ experience in a commercial or assistant QS role, preferably within a main contractor\n\n * Strong numerical and analytical skills with good attention to detail\n\n * Excellent communication and organisation skills\n\n * Familiarity with NEC or JCT forms of contract\n\n * Proficient in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of commercial software such as COINS or Causeway is beneficial\n\n * Full UK driving licence and willingness to be site-based in the Cotswolds\n\nWhat’s on Offer\n\n * Opportunity to work on a landmark project with an experienced and collaborative team\n\n * Ongoing professional development and training support\n\n * Clear progression path toward full Quantity Surveyor role\n\n * Competitive salary and benefits package
