Junior Quantity Surveyor – Taunton


Location: Taunton (Office based)

Salary: Up to £40,000 (Dependent on Experience)

The Client:

We're working with the UK’s leading road marking and highway safety business - they're looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic Commercial team.


This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their career who is keen to learn and develop within a supportive, forward-thinking organisation. You’ll play a vital role in supporting cost control, contract management, and commercial reporting across a variety of infrastructure and highways projects throughout the UK.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and submission of valuations and final accounts.
  • Support the measurement and valuation of works (on-site and from drawings).
  • Work closely with senior quantity surveyors and project managers to monitor project costs and budgets.
  • Assist in the procurement of subcontractors and materials.
  • Help identify and manage commercial risks.
  • Maintain contract documentation and ensure compliance with procedures.
  • Contribute to reporting and forecasting for projects and frameworks.


What We’re Looking For

  • A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Eagerness to learn, with a proactive and positive attitude.
  • A team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • A basic understanding of construction contracts (NEC) is desirable but not essential.
