Job Description

Overview

Our client are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of utility‑scale and commercial solar EPC projects. This role works closely with the Project Manager to coordinate pre‑construction activities, manage documentation, support subcontractor engagement, and help keep projects on schedule and within budget.

Responsibilities

Project Coordination & Support

  • Assist in developing and maintaining project budgets, schedules, and resource plans.
  • Support the full RFP process, including preparing bid packages, tracking responses, and coordinating with vendors.
  • Help manage pre‑construction activities such as contract preparation, subcontractor onboarding, and procurement coordination with EPC partners.

Construction Oversight

  • Monitor on‑site construction progress and ensure alignment with project plans, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Support field teams by coordinating materials, documentation, and communication between stakeholders.

Stakeholder & Subcontractor Management

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Assist in reviewing subcontractor bids, scopes, and change orders.

Risk & Issue Management

  • Help identify potential project risks and support the PM in developing mitigation strategies.
  • Participate in problem‑solving discussions to keep projects moving forward.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including meeting minutes, schedules, RFIs, submittals, and progress reports.
  • Ensure timely updates to internal systems and project tracking tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field .
  • 2–4 years of experience in EPC construction, project coordination, or assistant project management (Solar a plus but no required).
  • Strong financial awareness, including budgeting and cost tracking.
  • Proficiency with project management software (Microsoft Project ).
  • Experience supporting a developer or IPP is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
