Job Description

We’re partnered with a top-tier, nationally recognized General Contractor with a rapidly expanding Data Center division, delivering mission-critical projects for some of the largest tech clients in the world.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of locally based data center work, they are looking to bring on an Assistant Project Manager to support project delivery across multiple high-profile builds in the Chicago market.

This is a rare opportunity to break into mission-critical construction without the typical travel demands.

The Role

As an Assistant Project Manager, you’ll work directly alongside Senior PMs and Project Executives on complex data center projects, supporting all phases from preconstruction through closeout.

You will play a key role in keeping projects on track, managing documentation, and coordinating across internal teams and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in managing project budgets, schedules, and subcontractor coordination
• Support procurement, buyout, and contract administration
• Track RFIs, submittals, and change orders
• Work closely with field teams to ensure alignment between office and site
• Participate in client and subcontractor meetings
• Help drive projects from preconstruction through completion

What They’re Looking For

• 2–5 years of experience with a General Contractor or Developer
• Exposure to commercial, industrial, or mission-critical projects
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
• Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
