POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Assistant Project Manager plays a key role in supporting the Vice President by bringing design expertise and analytical problem-solving skills to the industrial development process. The primary responsibility of the Assistant Project Manager will be overseeing multiple development projects at various phases, ensuring each project is completed on time and within budget.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following duties are central to the role, though additional tasks may be assigned as needed to meet business objectives:

  • Lead the construction efforts for company projects, ensuring all developments meet both corporate and tenant standards.
  • Supervise and guide general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors throughout the construction process, ensuring that quality standards for the owner, designer, and tenant are upheld.
  • Assist with vendor and supplier selection by evaluating proposals and facilitating timely decisions.
  • Oversee the delivery, inspection, and use of materials, equipment, and construction services.
  • Ensure efficient coordination with architects, engineers, contractors, vendors, tenants, lenders, and other project stakeholders.
  • Proactively identify, resolve, and track ongoing project and construction challenges.
  • Coordinate and attend regular site progress meetings (ideally bi-weekly) and conduct site visits, safety inspections, quality checks, punch list reviews, and project closeouts.
  • Prepare weekly updates that include progress reports, issue logs, submittal records, Requests for Information (RFIs), and meeting summaries.
  • Manage project disruptions such as delays and emergencies.
  • Provide support to the VP on special or ad-hoc projects as required.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in architecture, engineering, or construction management.
  • Willingness and ability to travel throughout the United States as needed.
  • In-depth understanding of construction techniques, technologies, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and contracts.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and contractors simultaneously, maintaining a focus on quality and safety.
  • Strong multitasking skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities while maintaining precision and attention to detail.
  • Capable of working independently while collaborating with the management team.
  • Strong business sense in project planning and management.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and organizational communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook).
