Position Overview
The APM assists with and oversees end-to-end execution of field-based construction activities, ensuring projects align with organizational benchmarks for safety, performance, schedule, and budget discipline. This individual is accountable for orchestrating vendor and subcontractor collaboration, managing site personnel, maintaining budget accuracy, and ensuring timely project delivery. A key focus of this position is to strengthen team capabilities, resolve issues proactively, and participate in both planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Help supervise all phases of on-site construction to achieve defined goals in timing, cost, and scope.
- Foster a safety-first culture while ensuring adherence to quality and regulatory standards.
- Serve as the primary liaison between clients, trade partners, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Guide, coach, and support field staff, cultivating a high-performing and cooperative project team.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation, budget reports, and project tracking records throughout the lifecycle.
Core Competencies & Capabilities
- Expertise in overseeing commercial build processes, including cost tracking, resource allocation, and site operations.
- Proficient in deciphering technical construction materials such as plans, blueprints, and contractual documents.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills to effectively interface with project collaborators.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and provide mentorship in dynamic jobsite conditions.
- Skilled in using construction tech platforms (e.g., Procore or similar project management tools).
- Adept at recognizing and mitigating potential delays, budget overruns, or compliance concerns.
- Deep commitment to enforcing jobsite safety practices and maintaining consistent quality assurance.
- Efficient at juggling multiple priorities while delivering accurate records and documentation.
- Keen eye for detail, especially in reviewing financial summaries and project updates.
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience in construction management, within the commercial sector.
- Open to professionals with experience as Project Engineers, Assistant PMs, or Project Managers in commercial construction roles.
