Assistant Project Manager (Mechanical) \n\nClient site near Bridgwater TA5 1UD\n\nCertain Advantage are proud to be supporting a growing International Engineering services contractor who partner with renowned energy and government customers in solving engineering and technological challenges. \n\nThey are heavily supporting a large UK Nuclear Energy customer in delivering major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle.\n\nThey have an opportunity as an Assistant Project Manager near Bridgewater on the HPC build, specifically on the Equipment Programme that will be delivering the bulk of the mechanical, electrical and process equipment that will form the working HPC power station.\n\nIn this programme, the contracts could be for discrete components or complete systems and will be delivered in partnership with a global supply chain. Contracts range from £250k to £150m.

Input design is completed by the customer's Responsible Designer, with the detail design completed by the equipment supplier.\n\nAs the Assistant PM, your key responsibilities will be: \n\nLead/support and assist on tasks required to support the Project Manager's delivery of the project and contract scope for HPC.\nSupport PM to undertake all contract administration activities (with support of a Commercial Manager) including variations, claims, technical queries and instructions, using CEMAR.\nLiaise and interface with the other key teams on specific tasks which are required to support the principal task of delivery of the project and contract \n scope for HPC.\nParticipate in providing support to the Team with regard to compliance with approved procedures.\nParticipate in developing the relationships with key stakeholders for the HPC project\nSupport the project management functions of the technical work streams to help ensure they are completed on time and on budget, supporting the \n management of commercial and technical Work through all phases of the project, including management and coordination of responses to Technical Queries.\nInputs to weekly and monthly Performance Reporting\nLive updates of the Project Definition Document\nImplement strategies and plans in line with the overall Programme Definition Document (PgDD), setting out how the programme of work will be managed, organised and executed.\nMaintaining configuration control of Works Information \n\nYour Experience\n\nTrack record of delivering projects within a technically complex and dynamic environment whilst ensuring high levels of safety, security and environmental responsibility, ideally within the Nuclear Energy sector or similar regulated environment.\nAble to demonstrate strong management skills including project management, financial management, change management and facilitation. Proficient in the use of estimating scheduling, programming and risk tools.\nExperience of managing contractors, consultants and other advisors throughout large and complex construction projects, in a regulated environment.\nGood presentation, influencing and facilitation skills. Excellent communication and organisational skills, able to develop relationships and maintain effective networks.\nDegree and chartered status in an engineering, construction, physics or other related field.\nKnowledge and / or practitioner of Project Management with experience of applying either; APM body of knowledge and OGC's Prince 2.
