Spees Design Build is looking for a motivated individual to join our expanding team as an Assistant Project Manager. This role is designed for candidates eager to gain experience in design project management. The Assistant Project Manager’s primary responsibilities include assisting Project Managers with project coordination, administrative tasks, cost tracking, and documentation.  This is an in-office position to join our team in Bremerton, WA.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field .
  • 0-2 years of experience in construction, project coordination, or project engineering.
  • Knowledge of building materials, construction methods, and project phases.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project).
  • Experience with Procore, Vista, or other project management software is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with team members, clients, and vendors.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong team communication.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist Project Managers in reviewing change orders, cost tracking, and budget management
  • Maintain project documentation, including RFI logs, submittals, and meeting minutes
  • Support the design project by reviewing proposals, working with consultants and in house designers and engineers to provide a complete and on time project for our clients
  • Assist in the preparation of contracts, purchase orders, and scopes of work
  • Monitor project progress and support the team in ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget
  • Communicate with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to gather necessary project information
  • Support safety compliance and ensure that all documentation is properly maintained
  • Attend remote construction meetings and assist with reporting action items
  • Assist with schedule updates and project reporting
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management
  • Ability to travel occasionally for site visits
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Comfortable with prolonged periods of desk work and occasional lifting (up to 15 lbs)

  • Salary Range is $70k to $85k DOE
