TELACU Construction Management (TCM) is looking for an experienced and skilled Assistant Project Manager to work alongside the Project Manager to plan and execute projects on behalf of TCM and our clients. Duties include identifying clients’ or stakeholders’ project needs and goals, creating a detailed plan to successfully complete a project and organizing and storing project reports and documents.

Essential Job Duties

  • Assists in the management of Construction Projects working with the client, site staff, and consultants.
  • Assists in managing consultants working on the projects (Architect, Engineers, Inspectors, etc.).
  • Helps the Project Manager plan and develop construction projects.
  • Assists in the management of the overall project budget, schedule, and quality of work.
  • Helps with the procurement of contractors for working on the project.
  • Create bid documents, front end documents, and issue notice of intent to awards and create all corresponding board items in conjunction with the Project Manager
  • Oversee all contractors working on the projects.
  • Assures that projects are completed within budget and project deliverables and documentation are submitted timely, accurately, and in accordance with DSA and School policies and practices or public works policies and procedures.
  • Facilitates and/or coordinates design and construction efforts, communication, decision making and problem solving between project owners, Facilities Management, construction team, architects, designers and other project stakeholders.
  • Assists the Project Manager with all construction management services during the construction phase.
  • Oversees the ProCore document control system
  • RFI's/Submittals/As-Builts
  • Leads construction meetings
  • Performs QA/QC daily walks
  • Pay Application review/processing
  • Scheduling
  • Punch List
  • Project Closeout
  • Conducts post-project evaluations.
  • Leads a team of construction professionals and assigns their daily tasks and oversees their work.
  • Assists the Project Manager with providing support to department leadership in the development and implementation of departmental guidelines, policies, procedures, programs and services related to planning and managing the physical development of the campus.
  • Performs related responsibilities and other duties as required.

Experience & Education:

  • A bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture or related field and five years of experience in management of construction projects and/or programs or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • A working knowledge of construction, public works construction, and federal, state and local building codes is required.
  • Must have previous experience that demonstrates the ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities; excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • 5+ years of experience in the construction of public buildings

Computer & Software Skills

  • Must have foundational computer skills including: Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook email and calendaring)

  • MS Project
