Job Description
Start your Assistant Project Management career with Thames Water \n\nKick‑start your future as a Level 4 Assistant Project Manager Apprentice, supporting the UK’s largest water and wastewater provider. You’ll help deliver digital projects by learning how to plan, coordinate, and monitor activities that keep vital services running for millions of customers. \n \nWhat you’ll do: \n\nSupport planning and scheduling of project activities. \nHelp maintain project documents, plans, RAID logs, and reports. \nTrack project progress, budgets, resources, and quality. \nJoin stakeholder meetings, share updates, and capture actions. \nAssist with identifying risks, opportunities, and mitigation plans. \nWork with cross‑functional teams to keep workstreams on track. \nLearn how to set up, manage, and monitor project finances. \nWhere you will work: \n\nLocation: Hybrid - Clearwater Court, Reading \n\nHours: 36 hours a week across four working days plus one off-the-job training day, \n\nStart date: September 2026 \n\nTraining and qualification:\n\nYou’ll study with BPP Training, one of the UK’s leading Project Management training providers. \n\nYour training will be delivered via virtual weekly workshops \n\nQualification: Level 4 Associate Project Manager Apprenticeship Standard- This aligns with Association for Project Management for Associate Membership \n\nDuration: 24 months \n \nWhat you should bring to the role:\n\n5 GCSE Maths and English (grade 9-4 / A-C) \n48+ UCAS points or equivalent relevant qualification \nDriving license would be ideal but a necessity \nCan manage time well and stay organised \nWorks well in a team but is also confident working independently \nPassionate about learning and aligned with Thames Water’s goals for the future \nWhat’s in it for you? \n\nExcellent salary: £22,500 annum \nAnnual Leave: 24 days holiday per year increasing to 28 with the length of service (plus bank holidays) \nPerformance-related pay plan directly linked to company performance measures and targets \nGenerous Pension Scheme through AON \nAccess to lots of benefits to help you take care of you and your family’s health and wellbeing, and your finances – from annual health MOTs and access to physiotherapy and counselling, to Cycle to Work schemes, shopping vouchers and life assurance. \nFind out more about our benefits and perks \n\nWho are we? \n\nWe’re the UK’s largest water and wastewater company, with more than 16 million customers relying on us every day to supply water for their taps and toilets.
