The Texas Tech University College of Arts & Sciences was founded in 1925 as one of the university's four original colleges. Comprised of 16 departments, the college offers a wide variety of courses and programs in the humanities, social and behavioral sciences, mathematics, and natural sciences. The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Texas Tech University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in Inorganic Chemistry. The successful candidate is expected to develop an independent and internationally recognized and well-funded research program in Inorganic Chemistry with an emphasis in one or more of the areas of materials, energy, or health, broadly defined. This position will be part of a major expansion of the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry, which is among the top academic units at Texas Tech in terms of research funding, publications, and graduate education.
The successful faculty candidate will be required to teach Inorganic Chemistry at all levels and contribute to the graduate curriculum. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in chemistry, or closely related field, as well as postdoctoral experience, with a strong research track record as exemplified by publications in appropriate peer-reviewed journals. Service duties include program-building, as well as commitment to extra-curricular activities. Service to the department, college, university, and community is expected.
