This opportunity involves working on advanced landing gear design projects, mentoring fellow engineers, and driving forward innovative design practices and methods.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nAs an Assistant Principal Design Engineer, you will:\n\nLead conceptual studies and recommend effective engineering solutions\nMaintain high technical standards in work package activities\nServe as a technical focal point and mentor for design engineers\nAttend customer meetings and represent the organisation in technical reviews\nPromote and implement new design tools and techniques\nWork collaboratively with other departments including Engineering, Programmes, Manufacturing, and Test\nParticipate in technical audits and ensure compliance with industry regulationsRequirements\n\nTo excel in the role of Assistant Principal Design Engineer, you'll need:\n\nAn engineering qualification (minimum HNC/HND; ideally BSc/MSc)\nExperience using design software, preferably CATIA\nSolid knowledge of aerospace design and manufacturing processes\nDemonstrated ability to solve complex engineering challenges\nFamiliarity with GD&T and aerospace materials is advantageous\nStrong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills\nAbility to work independently in complex environmentsBenefits\n\n37-hour working week with early finish on Fridays (1pm)\n5 weeks annual leave plus statutory holidays\nCompetitive personal pension scheme (5% employee / 8% employer contributions with salary sacrifice)\nDeath in service life insurance coverage up to 4x basic annual salary\nShare scheme\nCareer development and training opportunities\nOnsite canteen\nHybrid working arrangement: up to 2 days per week from home\nDBS check requiredIf you're ready to take on a challenging and rewarding engineering role, apply now
