Assistant Town Planner\n\nLocation: London (Hybrid)\n Experience Required: Minimum 6 months' professional planning experience\n Sector: Planning & Development Consultancy\n\nWe are working exclusively with a well-established, design-led planning and development consultancy to recruit an Assistant Town Planner. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career planner to join a collaborative, highly respected team working on a diverse portfolio of projects across the UK.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs an Assistant Town Planner, you will support senior planners on a wide range of residential, commercial and mixed-use developments. You will be involved in the planning process from early site appraisal through to determination, gaining hands-on experience and structured mentoring.\n\nKey responsibilities include:\n\nAssisting with the preparation and submission of planning applications\n\nUndertaking site appraisals, planning research and policy analysis\n\nSupporting the preparation of Planning Statements, Design & Access Statements and appeals\n\nLiaising with local authorities, consultants and clients\n\nMonitoring planning applications and contributing to project coordination\n\nAbout You\n\nTo be considered, you must have:\n\nAt least 6 months' experience in a town planning role (public or private sector)\n\nA degree in Town Planning or a related discipline\n\nA strong understanding of the UK planning system\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\n\nA proactive attitude and desire to progress towards MRTPI\n\nWhat's on Offer\n\nExposure to high-quality, design-focused projects\n\nA supportive environment with clear progression and training\n\nHybrid working and a positive, professional culture\n\nCompetitive salary and benefits aligned with experience\n\nThis role would suit a graduate or assistant planner looking to build a long-term career within a consultancy known for its quality of work and people-first approach
