Assistant Operations Manager

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assistant operations manager provides training, instruction, and guidance to subordinate employees to ensure their knowledge of company products, fabrication and assembly methods, management skills, and the effective use of accepted work processes and standards.

Primary Duties

·       Manage all documents related to Productivity, Quality, Efficiency, and equipment for use on a daily basis

·       Manage associates in a safe environment and comply with all safety regulations concerning equipment.

·       Manage the overall 5S · Promote the highest safety, quality, and productivity standard

·       Manage, maintain, and develop subordinate’s efficiencies and understanding Essential Functions

·       Management of safety, quality, and productivity.

·       Make improvements as needed.

·       Communicate any process changes, quality alerts, or information needed for associates to do the job with the highest quality and efficiency.

·       Manage headcount to ensure that production is met

·       Complete and report documentation related to safety, quality, productivity, training, and associates.

·       Train properly and develop people

·       Perform performance evaluations as needed

·       Train and develop team leaders to serve a Group Leader back-up

·       Serve as team leader back up

·       Handle countermeasures associated with any Logistics issues

·       Maintain inventory and shipping; prevent short shipments

·       Assist supervisors, team leaders and line support team members

·       All other duties as assigned

 Education and Experience

·       3-5 years of logistics leadership in a manufacturing setting

·       Strong knowledge of quality standards, regulations, and best practices, specifically ISO 9001 .

·       Proficient in Microsoft applications

·       Excellent verbal, people, communication and training skills

·       Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Other Requirements

Use of cell phone, 2 –way radio

Educational Requirement 

High School Diploma or equivalent.  2 years or more of college

Availability to Work

Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, nights and weekends
