Are you mechanically inclined and looking to build your career in the marine industry? Surfside Marina, a premier sportfishing and boating facility on the Texas Gulf Coast, is seeking a dedicated and reliable Assistant Marine Technician to support our team in maintaining and servicing a variety of vessels and marine systems.

Position Summary:

As an Assistant Marine Technician, you will work alongside experienced marine technicians to assist with the maintenance, repair, and installation of mechanical and electrical systems on boats and docked vessels. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical skills, a commitment to safety, and a passion for working around the water.

Key Responsibilities:

· Assist in performing maintenance and repairs on marine engines, electrical systems, pumps, and onboard systems.

· Support oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and other routine tasks.

· Help troubleshoot engine and equipment problems under supervision.

· Assist in installing and removing marine systems and components.

· Ensure all work is done safely and in accordance with marina standards and regulations.

· Maintain detailed records of services, parts used, and inspections completed.

· Stay current with marine technology and safety procedures through training.

· Support marina operations and perform other tasks as assigned.

What We’re Looking For:

· Basic understanding of marine systems and mechanical repair

· Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and technical manuals

· Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols

· Good communication and teamwork skills

· Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and on-call shifts

· Physically able to lift heavy equipment and work in tight or elevated areas

Qualifications:

· Previous experience in a marina, shipyard, or marine environment

· Marine tech certification or vocational training a plus
