Job Description

Excellent opportunity to join a leading specialist contractor working with their commercial team and play a key role in driving project profitability through refurbishment works. We're looking for a commercially minded individual to analyse costs versus income, prepare valuations and payment applications, manage variations, and optimise contract terms to protect margin, cash flow, and risk. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Estimator with a construction background who's confident working with numbers, navigating sites, and engaging with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Assist in preparing cost estimates, quotations, and tender submissions.

\n

• Support senior estimators with quantity take-offs and cost analysis.

\n

• Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.

\n

• Maintain estimating databases, cost records, and project files.

\n

• Attend site visits (as required) to collect relevant data.

\n

• Learn company estimating software, systems, and methods.

\n

\n

Essential:

\n

\n
• Genuine interest in construction, quantity surveying, or estimating.

\n

• Strong numerical and analytical ability.

\n

• Excellent attention to detail.

\n

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools.

\n

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

\n

• Eagerness to learn and develop professionally.

\n

\n

Requirements:

\n

\n
• HND/HNC or Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction/Commercial Management (or near completion).

\n

• 1-2+ years' experience in a Estimating/QS/Assistant QS role within construction

\n

• CSCS card.(Desirable)

\n

• Full UK driving licence

\n

\n
