Job Description

Our client, a prominent player in the rail sector, is currently seeking an Assistant Engineering Manager for Headhouses & Fitout on a contract basis. This role is instrumental in supporting the technical delivery of designated headhouse, shaft, civil, MEP, and architectural fit-out elements within rail projects.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nSupporting Senior Engineering Managers and Asset Engineering Managers in delivering engineering activities across S&H assets\nAssisting with discipline coordination to ensure design and construction information is consistent, technically correct, and integrated\nSupporting the implementation of the Engineering Management Plan, standards, processes, and procedures\nContributing to constructability reviews and technical assurance activities\nAssisting in managing technical documentation, assurance records, and engineering deliverables\nHelping monitor and manage technical change, ensuring impacts are identified and escalated appropriately\nSupporting the review of departures, deviations, and NTSN-related design considerations\nPromoting and championing Health, Safety and Welfare (HS&W) within engineering activities\n\nJob Requirements:\n\nRelevant degree or higher and associated professional qualifications\nExperience in project-based design and engineering management across all project stages\nExtensive experience with large complex projects within the rail, highways, water, or energy sectors\nDeep understanding of engineering principles and extensive technical knowledge\nProven experience managing multi-disciplinary teams\nUnderstanding of digital engineering during design and construction phases and using the Digital Plan of Works\nStrong communication and leadership skills\nRelevant CSCS Card\nIf you are an experienced Assistant Engineering Manager with a civil background and have a passion for the rail industry, we would love to hear from you.
