Job Description
Assistant Construction Planner – Tier 1 Main Contractor\n Location: Cambridge\n Salary: £45-£50k + Package \n Experience: 1–2 Years (Graduates with placement experience considered)\n\nA leading Tier 1 main contractor is seeking an ambitious Assistant Construction Planner to join their expanding pre-construction and delivery team. This is an excellent opportunity for a developing planner to work on major, high-profile projects while learning from some of the industry’s best.\n\nThe Role:\n As an Assistant Construction Planner, you will support the planning team in preparing, updating, and monitoring project programmes across a range of large-scale builds. You’ll gain hands-on experience throughout the project lifecycle, from tender stage through to delivery, working alongside senior planners, project managers, and design teams.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nAssist with developing tender and construction programmes using Asta Powerproject\n\nUpdate and maintain project schedules, tracking progress against key milestones\n\nSupport planning meetings and contribute to programme reviews\n\nHelp identify risks, delays, and opportunities within the programme\n\nProduce reports, logistics plans, sequencing information, and planning documentation\n\nCollaborate with site teams to gather accurate project data\n\nBuild a strong understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing\n\nAbout You:\n\n1–2 years’ experience in a planning role OR a relevant construction degree with placement experience\n\nProficient using Asta Powerproject (essential)\n\nStrong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail\n\nA proactive attitude and willingness to learn from senior planners\n\nGood communication skills and the ability to work well within a team\n\nGenuine interest in construction planning, programme management, and project controls\n\nTo be considered for this role please apply with your CV, for a confidential conversation please contact Jenny Saban in our Cambridge office
