Assistant Construction Manager

Quest Group is ACTIVELY recruiting for an Assistant Construction manager for a private equity real estate development firm focused on creating high-value assets across retail, commercial, and mixed-use sectors. With a strong pipeline of projects and a commitment to excellence, we are seeking a seasoned Construction Manager to oversee development and construction activities from conception through completion.


Position Overview

The Assistant Construction Manager will assist in leading and managing the construction process across multiple retail and commercial real estate projects. This individual will act as the key liaison between ownership, general contractors, architects, engineers, and consultants to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and in line with investment objectives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all phases of construction for retail, commercial projects.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and quality control to align with investment targets.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants to resolve design and construction challenges.
  • Negotiate contracts, change orders, and vendor agreements to maximize value and minimize risk.
  • Lead pre-construction activities including design development, permitting, and cost estimation.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure safety, compliance, and quality standards.
  • Track and report project performance, including budget adherence, scheduling milestones, and progress updates for senior leadership and investors.
  • Mitigate risks and proactively address issues that could impact timelines, costs, or quality.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, municipalities, and stakeholders.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (Master’s degree ).
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in construction and project management, with a strong background in retail and commercial development.
  • Proven track record of managing projects from pre-construction through completion.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, permitting, scheduling, and budget management.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting and private equity real estate investment structures a plus.
