Skills and Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience managing fleet or equipment assets, preferably in the construction, electrical, or field services industries.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT compliance and vehicle maintenance protocols.
  • Experience with asset tracking software, fleet telematics, and inventory systems.
  • Familiarity with construction tools and jobsite tech hardware is a strong plus.
  • Proficiency in Excel, asset management platforms, and basic IT troubleshooting.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel to job sites as needed (2030%).
  • Valid driver's license is required with clear MVR for 3 years.

Position Summary:


The Fleet & Asset Manager plays a critical role in ensuring InPwrs field operations run efficiently by overseeing the management of all company-owned vehicles, tools, and job site IT equipment. This position is responsible for procurement, inventory control, maintenance coordination, asset tracking, compliance, and reporting across all categories. The ideal candidate is highly organized, tech-savvy, and experienced in managing physical assets across a footprint

Fleet Management

    • Manage and maintain the companys fleet of vehicles, including vans, trucks, and trailers.
    • Coordinate vehicle registration, insurance, inspections, and repairs.
    • Monitor GPS/telematics data and enforce vehicle usage and safety policies.
    • Track fleet utilization, fuel usage, maintenance schedules, and service history.
    • Lead cost-saving initiatives such as fuel card programs, preventative maintenance, and vendor negotiations.
    • Organize and conduct safety training sessions for new drivers to uphold safety standards.
    • Handle accident reporting and coordinate vehicle repairs efficiently.
    • Oversee and manage toll accounts for fleet vehicles.
    • Coordinate the application and maintenance of vehicle branding.
    • Monitor and address vehicle recall notifications.
    • Conduct and document regular vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance.
    • Utilize software to monitor vehicle usage, generate reports, and ensure fleet optimization

Tool & Equipment Management

    • Oversee procurement, assignment, tracking, and maintenance of tools and field equipment.
    • Continue to improve upon the existing inventory system for high-value and job-critical tools.
    • Coordinate tool inspections, calibrations, repairs, and replacements.
    • Implement systems for checking tools in/out and ensuring accountability across teams.

IT & Job Site Technology Management

    • Manage laptops, iPads, routers/hotspots, and other technology issued to job sites.
    • Coordinate with IT to ensure appropriate security, updates, and connectivity for remote sites.
    • Track and recover technology assets upon project completion or employee departure.
    • Support technology rollouts on site (ExakTime, Procore tablets, etc.).

Compliance & Reporting

    • Maintain compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety requirements related to vehicles and equipment.
    • Create and manage documentation and SOPs related to asset handling.
    • Provide reporting on fleet and asset costs, maintenance trends, and usage.
    • Work cross-functionally with Safety, HR, Operations, and IT to ensure alignment.


Working/ Environment/ Physical Demands to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is a stationary position that requires frequent sitting or standing, repetitive wrist motions, grasping, speaking, listening, close vision, vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to lift and move equipment (up to 50 lbs.) periodically, and comfortable working in office, warehouse, and field environments.

Employees in this position must be physically able to efficiently perform the essential functions of the position. Candidates must be able to conduct site visits to provide estimates, navigating a variety of conditions and environments.
