Assembly Technician — Precision Instruments

Baltimore, MD (on-site) | Full-time | $25–$32/hr, depending on experience

\n

AirPhoton builds precision optical instruments for air-quality and atmospheric measurement, as part of the international GRASP-Earth alliance. We're hiring an experienced assembly technician who can build, test, and calibrate complete instruments independently and to a high standard.

Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Build wire harnesses, circuit boards, front panels, pneumatic assemblies, and complete instruments

\n

• Solder boards and wire connections and crimp to a consistently high standard, working from schematics, drawings, and BOMs

\n

• Perform electrical and pneumatic QC testing and troubleshoot issues

\n

• Calibrate finished instruments and document results

\n

• Manage production jobs and inventory in our ERP system

\n

\n

Qualifications

\n

\n
• Several years' hands-on experience in electronic or electromechanical assembly

\n

• Strong soldering (boards and wires) and wire-crimping skills

\n

• Able to read schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and BOMs

\n

• Comfort with electrical/pneumatic test equipment; familiarity with ERP and basic CAD

\n

• Able to lift 50 lbs and do detailed close-up work

\n

• High school diploma or equivalent

\n

\n

Qualifications

\n

\n
• IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 certification

\n

• Experience calibrating instruments

\n

• ESD or cleanroom assembly experience

\n

• Optical assembly experience

\n

• CNC experience

\n

• Technical-school or military electronics training (veterans encouraged to apply)
