Title: Assembly Technician
Reports To: Production Supervisor
Classification: Full-time, Non-Exempt
Position Summary:
Member of the Operations team tasked with production and assembly of Wy’East Medical’s full product line.
Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:
· Assemble, inspect and test mechanical and electrical products having both hardware and software systems
· Perform machine set-up/operation and monitoring of tools and systems
· Follow operational procedures, prints and other documentation in order to build product properly
· Utilize diagnostic equipment to monitor equipment performance, diagnose root cause and make reliability improvement recommendations
· Notify management of any conditions felt as being undesirable or nonconforming to safety, product specification or any procedures that cannot be performed as documented
· Works as directed on daily work assignments to meet customer commitments
· Uses written and verbal communication to relate equipment and process information to other team members and support functions
· Changes direction to accommodate work priorities as needed
· Performs visual inspection of all components and finished sub-assemblies and finish products to specified criteria to ensure high quality
· May work in other work centers and/or departments
· Assembly of products can include:
o Attach connectors using hand crimping tools
o Connect to components using terminal blocks and modular connectors
o Route and secure using zip-ties and cable clamps
o Strip and tin wires using hand tools including soldering iron
o Solder wires to components
o Work with wire ranging from 26 to 14 gauge
· Install hardware where needed
· Operation of light machinery
· Pre-testing of equipment before assembly
· Cycling of equipment through electronic and environmental testing equipment
- Pack and ship finished goods in a timely manner, including but not limited to the following: loading trucks with forklift, verifying correct material and quantity, performing system transactions, and processing shipping paperwork
- Receive incoming material according to current receiving process, including quality inspection, and distribute incoming material to correct locations
- Inventory cycle counting, picking/kitting and other inventory related tasks

· Understand basic AC and DC electrical principles
· Able to determine voltage and continuity using Volt-Ohm-Milliammeter (VOM)
· Hands-on troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
· Ability to work with minimal supervision
· Strong written and verbal English communication skills
· Excellent teamwork/interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively
· Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, both within and outside one's own work group
Education and Experience: (Knowledge, skills, & abilities)
· H.S. Diploma or GED required. Associates Degree highly desirable
· Minimum of 2+ years of recent and relevant experience required
Other Requirements
· Valid driver’s license
· Occasional same day travel for purposes such as taking company vehicles to and from maintenance facilities (i.e., oil changes, tire rotations, etc.), picking up or delivering parts to/from vendors, delivering products to customers, or other similar types of same day travel in support of the business.
· Operating a forklift (will train)
· Ability to lift 50 lbs.
· Ability to work while continuously standing for 10 hours
· Willingness to receive necessary vaccinations and credentialling in order to travel and enter customer facilities.
· The potential to travel once or twice a year to assist customers with repairs.
Work Environment
· Standard manufacturing environment with various types of equipment
· Appropriate safety garments (PPE) must be worn
Schedule:
· 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday and may adjust at discretion of management
· Occasional overtime as per the needs of the business
